10 Weightloss Yoga For Beginners Flexibility And Fat Burning

1. BOAT POSE

I’ll be honest here.

Abs are my weakest point. I hate working out my abdominal muscles.

But for the sake of protecting my lower back and maintaining proper posture, I don’t shy away from a good ab work out.

Boat pose is the perfect abdominal workout for beginner and advanced yogis.

It’ll firm up those tummy muscles, and strengthen your hip flexors and lower back, all at once.

2. CHAIR POSE

Work your booty!

Actually, work your booty, thighs, abs, hips, AND arms with this killer pose.

Once you sit down in your invisible chair, you’ll feel the intensity of this pose work your entire body.

I love and loathe this awesome pose.

Try it out and you’ll see why.

3. DOWNWARD-FACING DOG POSE

Ahhh, downward-facing dog.

This pose has always been one of my faves to start out my practice.

It just feels SO good.

Downward-facing dog gives an amazing stretch to your shoulders, hamstrings, arches, and calves, all while strengthening your arms and legs.

It’s pretty dang lovely.

4. UPWARD-FACING DOG POSE

Ready to tone your arms and toosh while you lay on the ground?

Yep, it’s possible! Well, kinda.

Seriously though, upward-facing dog kills it.

Burn some good body fat in all the right places with this simple, yet effective pose.

And that oh-so yummy abdominal and chest stretch it offers? Pure bliss.

5. WARRIOR I POSE

This pose is a little trickster.

Warrior 1 looks simple and elegant but don’t be fooled.

Feel your shoulders, arms, legs, and back burn as they get that awesome workout you’re craving.

Get your warrior on and you’ll see exactly why it’s named so.

6. SUPERMAN POSE

Another yoga pose that allows you to lay down on the floor.

Can I get an amen?!

But then you realize, it’s not as easy as it looks. You’re actually getting a decent workout in this pose.

Superman pose does some intense strengthening of your chest, shoulders, arms, legs, and butt muscles.

Lots of fat-burning goodness all rolled into one right here.

7. SQUAT POSE

This pose just feels amazing.

Aside from the relieving stretches to your ankles, lower hamstrings, and groin, squat pose is perfect for toning your abs and strengthening your metabolism.

Sounds like Heaven, right?

Drop into a little squat and see for yourself.

8. PLANK POSE

Pretty much the holy grail of core toners right here.

The plank pose will do wonders for strengthening the core muscles of your body including your abs, chest, and lower back.

This pose is often used to prepare your body for more challenging arm poses. So you’ll get a lot of good arm, wrist, and shoulder strengthening out of this pose as well.

Say hello to a nice, tight core once you’ve worked this pose into your regular workout routine.

9. CRESCENT POSE

Who wants tone thighs, calves, and a firm booty? This weightloss yoga for beginners flexibility is for you.

If you raised your hand, then you’ll love the crescent lunge pose.

This pose is perfection for that solid lower body toning you’re looking for.

Throw in some killer arm, shoulder, abdominal, and chest stretches, and you’ve got one amazing pose to practice.

10. COBRA POSE

Similar to upward-facing dog pose, you’ll love the effects of cobra pose.

It incorporates those lovely stretches for your abdominals, chest, and shoulders as you tone and firm your booty.

You’ll even find that cobra pose can elevate your mood and invigorate your heart.
